Discovering U.S. National Parks

I’ll admit it — I’m a very casual nature person. I love a good hike that guides you to somewhere surrounded by natural wonder, but I’m bad about seeking it out. Growing up in California, I took for granted the accessibility to a mind boggling amount of national parks within my home state alone (9 of them!!).

Since moving out to the East Coast, I’ve found myself in an abrupt geographical awakening. What do you mean it’s more than 2.5 hour drive away?

This visualization was created to help get some bearings back into my life of the whereabouts of these protected nature lands. Where might my nearest park be? Are they super popular? When should I plan my own trip for?
